Norma’s Daycare, Bilingual School has chosen to participate in Spark, Oregon’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)—a program to raise the quality and consistency of child care and early learning programs across the state and national. We are proud to report that Norma’s Daycare, Bilingual School received a 5-Star Quality Program rating! 

This quality rating means we meet essential evaluation standards that support quality early learning for all children. We are committed to quality care and learning for all children, and know the first years of life build the foundation for lifelong learning and success. That’s why we were among the first programs in the state to participate and receive a Spark rating.

A 5-Star Quality Program means that we have met the requirements for a 3- and 4-Star Quality Program, as well as additional standards. Norma’s Daycare, Bilingual School receives an on-site evaluation to show we are using the best practices in adult-child interaction. The program encourages parents to play an active role in the program community and culture. The leader/director has a Bachelor’s Degree in the field or equivalent training and the majority of staff have an Associate Degree in the field or equivalent training. The program regularly evaluates employees using observations and provides substantial employment benefits to staff.

We are particularly proud of our efforts in the Learning and Development, Health and Safety, and Personnel Quality  areas.  Our staff has earned above than an Associate Degree in Early Education, and we continue working. We have the lowest ratios  in the field.

Norma’s Daycare, Bilingual School  also has a Bilingual CDA ( Credential Development Associate), and also to moved forward to step 10 in My ORO that is equivalent a Baccalaureate Degree in Early Education.
